  1. If you’re able to cast that light of a lure on a baitcaster there shouldn’t be any problems.

  2. You’d be surprised how far and how smoothly a Daiwa Liberto Pixy filled with 6 pound SunLine can cast a 1/16th ounce trout spinner…

    So yeah, you can if you can find the right baitcaster to do it.

  3. I would say no in the case of the rooster tail. Theoretically its possible but I wouldnt recommend it.

  4. Yes, but baitcasters are for power fishing. Not for light line fishing, like that usually used for trout fishing. GMB, the Pixy is $475, what kind of wallet do you think this guy has!?

  5. Theoretically, you could, but I probably wouldn’t try, just because it’s so much easier to fish ultralight tackle on a spinning reel. However, you can use a baitcaster on other trout lures, like 1/4oz-3/8oz jerkbaits and jigs. And yes, you can catch trout on that.
