How to Carry a Fishing rod on a bike?

I need to make some kind of rod holder for my bike. I have 2 rods I wish to carry, one is a 2 piece baitcaster and the other is a 1 piece spinning. They’re both 6’6” long. Any Ideas? And I’m a catch and release fisherman so I”m not going to be bringing any home.
I’ve really been wanting to ride my bike to my favorite fishing hole, which is about 6 miles away.
Thanks–
Kaleb-

  1. if it werent for the case you could just strap it on the top tube like a big lance

case may make it all too bulky
    would hit your legs

if case is not too wide, carry it strapped to a backpack, sideways

I would use a precut tube of PVC pipe. I would attach it along the top bar, just behind the handlebars, extending over the rear tire. I would attach it to the frame using zip ties. Reel and accessories I would carry in aback pack.

  3. PVC pipe from almost any hardware store. Jury rig a bracket either on the front forks or rear of the bike. The main drawback will be – the rods will be vertical. Don’t go under any low tree branches.
