Fish finders with gps?

I have been looking around for a good fish finder with a navionics mapping. i was lookin at a lowrance hds 5 with lake insite mapping, but i heard it was not as good as a hummingbird 788ci combo with the navionics gold mapping. I am using it for muskie fishig up north. I am not sure what i should get, im have no clue what is considered a good mapping/gps/fish finder. I just need to find out whats the better fish finder. thank you.

How helpful are fish finders for inland lakes?

I am not an expert angler but I didn’t catch a single fish last time I went out perch fishing with shiners. I don’t know if I am going to continue fishing as much next year to make it worth while. would buying a cheap one be better then nothing? How much better are the slightly more expensive ones?

Are there any good portable fish finders on the market?

I take my son fishing to a couple of lakes and, because I don’t own a boat, I always rent one for the day.
Do you know if there are portable fish finders that can readily attach to a rented 4 person aluminum boat?
If so, where can I buy one.
Any help will be appreciated.
