looking for a fun fishing gift for my hubby?

my hubby’s bday is around the corner and i’m stumped on what to get him. he loves baitfishing for trout ( freshwater fishing) and has tons of gear already – including boat, fish finder, battery , charger, float tube, gps, poles & bait galore ( but anything new that works would help) , downrigger, floating fish light, a smoker, pole holders – soooo much stuff – i know now that i’m writing this that he has so many fish toys, but at gift time his eyes sparkle when given a new fishing toy. what is a wife to do?! i thought about a floating cooler ……..

Would a fish finder be a good gift for an occasional fisher?

I’m thinking specifically that my dad likes to go ice fishing occasionally in the winter on a few lakes in the area. He is very much an amateur and doesn’t know a ton about fishing nor does he own a lot of equipment to help catch different fish… but he does know a little about fishing and has some equipment. Is a fish finder a good gift for someone like my dad? Or is it for more hardcore fishermen who know a lot about fishing and have the right equipment to catch certain fish? I don’t want to get him something that will not be of any use to him.

Fly fishing gift for my husband: fanny pack, vest pack, back pack or chest pack?

My husband asked for a fanny pack for fly fishing, but I’m wondering if maybe a chest pack or back pack may be more comfortable and functional – it carries a water bladder and keys, etc. I’d like some feedback on what has worked. We live in New England where he will need layers in winter, so I’m wondering if a Vest would be good? Thanks for your help! :)

Follow-up question about perfect gift lol, regarding fishfinders?

I’m looking into getting a fishfinder as a birthday gift for a fisherman, but is it likely that he already has one? What I mean is, are they popular and is it standard for most people who fish to own one? I would like to try to avoid spending the money on something he probably already has, if that is possible. Thanks again!

Need help with purchasing a Fish Finder for Christmas Gift!?

I am looking for a Fish Finder for my boyfriend for a Christmas Gift, but I’m Not sure which is a good brand.
He fishes in primarily Fresh Water on his Kayak, Canoe, or small Motor boat.
I am looking for a Fish finder that works good, and is relatively small, so that he can take it wherever he likes.
Also I am looking in the $200-$250 Range :-)
Thanks
