Best way to fish with hard plastic lure?

I bought a couple cotton cordell lures, and i’m going to the new york, coney island pier, and I was going to use the lures. They are the ones that rattle. What is the best way to fish with them? Like, Cast, then slowlly reel in, or leave them there, tie a pyramid weight to the bottom and then the lure a little higher, and go to the bottom and slowly reel in, or what? Please help!

Any tips for lure fishing for trout in cold water?

I’m trying to pull out some brownies. It’s November so the water’s pretty cold in New York. I’ve been using some curly tails and I’ve gotten some weak strikes, though I haven’t set a hook. Anybody still catching brown trout? What are you using? I’m fishing a pretty small creek with a moderate flow.

I was aked to leave the Bass Pro shop after testing a rod n reel combo and a lure in their open aquarium?

There is no sign saying no fishing and it was too tempting.
One guy came over saying I can’t do that in the store and the 3 other guys rushed over to remove me. Can I give them trouble for harassment or anything?

Best lure and tactics for Fluke fishing?

Anyone know the best lure that has worked phenomenally for catching summer flounder of a pier?
Also, the best rig to go with it.
I’ve been using bucktail jigs, white or green with spearing as a trailer and its worked great, but wondering if theres something better out there.
Also, should I go finesse or or standard pier rod. Finesse definitely has better control and feel.
I have a net so pulling a fat mat is not a issue.
Ok, I’m not looking for “how to fish for fluke”, I know how to fish for them been doing it for years…they love squid, spearing, searobin bellys, jigs, etc. I want to know what is the best of the best lure/bait, example, 20 people on a boat and no one is catching anything but you’re pulling up one every 3 mins. etc, what are you using?
