I just moved to west Palm beach Fl and am looking to start shore fishing. What do I need for equipment (rod/reel, bait, tackle and whatever else) to get started? I am looking to keep it pretty basic and, don’t want to spend too much money. Just something decent. Also, what type of fish am I looking to catch. I was told there are bluefish here. Thanks
I have an okuma stinson spinning reel that can only hold up to a 6 pound test line. I will mainly be fishing on lakes and small ponds from the shore. What length rod do i need. And are there different thicknesses of rods? Suggest your favorite rods please nothing too pricey.
What action do i need?
I have never ice fished before and i have no knowlege whatsoever about it. Tell me what rquipment i need to catch fish. Every piece of equipent including bait, rods, reels, things to drill holes with, and those little huts. Im clueless.
I left my rod and reel outside over the winter. I live in PA so we get snow and rain. I’m sure it got wet, but when i cats the reel seems to be okay. It was in an overhang by my house so it was in the shade at all time (no UV damage)What I’m wondering is do i need to replace my line if it has been unused and wet for a couple of months.

I used to go fishing quite a bit as a kid in Utah, but now all that remains from that is my reel and pole. Now I’m in Colorado for medical school with my wife and daughter and was hoping to get started again camping and fishing on our (very few) breaks. Any suggestions on how to get started with fishing equipment? What all will I need from A to Z??
I’m going on a vacation to Florida and plan on trying to do a little offshore fishing with my freshwater tackle. I understand I need to rinse the saltwater off to prevent corrosion, but I’m not sure how often. Do I need to rinse after every time out (I may be fishing nine to ten different times throughout the vacation) or is it just a once after the vacation thing? Also, how does one rinse all of the saltwater off of the reel? Thanks in advance! Any information helps as this is my first time fishing in saltwater.
