My son is really big into bass fishing now and he fishes tournaments and tours the US. I was wanting to get him the best high quality baitcasting rod and reel I could afford. He said that he wants some kind of Quantum reel, and some kind of split grip style handle rod. I have a low budget this year you guys so can you help a brother out?

My previous reel broke down even though I washed it etc., so I’m looking for a super reliable salt water reel for under $70 – I’m broke . Anyway, I would like it to be able to hold 200m (218y) of 6.8kg (15lb) test monofilament (0.45mm diameter). It needs to be able to cope with tiny whiting up to like 15kg snappers and barramundi etc. So yeah! Reliable, easy to clean, large spool size. Also spinning reel. Saltwater. Thanks in advance!

I’m going to be 15 and I want to get a baitcaster. I fish in Canada on the summers I catch pike, bass, catfish, and panfish. I want a low profile reel and I have a budget of about $100. I want an all around good combo for what I’m going to catch with. Pro’s, con’s, brands, and specific combos would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I’m looking for a open face rod and reel combo. Ideally I’d like something with at least a 3 ball bearing reel that will serve 8 to 12lb test line. Medium action rod. Or do you have any other sugestions. I mostly fish onshore. I’ve been to Bass Pro Shop but its overwelming with to many distractions.

What do you fish for with a closed reel?

I’m used to bass fishing with my baitcasters, but my kids have closed face reels and bass fishing just isn’t easy. What can they fish for, what kind of rig, bait etc?
