What pole would be best for me?

This past week I lost my Shakespeare Patriot fishing rod/reel to the depths of smith mountain lake, so I am in need of a new rod/reel, but I dont know what would be best for me. I fish for everything, but mostly bass. I dont want a really big pole, a 5 to 5 1/2 footer would be perfect. And I would prefer a pole under 50 bucks, a little bit over could possibly work out, though.

  1. Zebco Quantum Baitcaster 6ft rod –I got mine at walmart like 5 year ago it was $ 40–best pole ever

  2. depends on open or closed face reel your best bet to go cheap is the flea market i kind of like fishing for them myself this may help you if the water is not too deep i take an aluminum pool pole and set up a rake kind of thing on the end of it with big hooks and magnets wont catch the pole with mags but get pocket knives and hooks and lures never buy tackle if you go to places where a lot of people fish off docks and the waters deep my pole is 40 ft long

  3. Here’s a link with quite a few selections of Spinning ( has other types as well ) rig Combinations that are within’ your budget. Only draw back, be Shippin’ & Handelin’, but one is goin’ ta’ have that on all types of ordering.
Get a lot of disagreement on this, but an Ugly Stik by Shakespeare is a decent rod and ya’ can get them in a combinatiom rod and reel set-up at a good price. Walmart, Kmart and or any discount outlet store should carry them annnnd no S&H ;)…

  4. Go for Shakespeare Ugly Stick for under 50 bucks. If you want to spend a little more go for a Fenwick.
